Anyone feel like making a road trip to go visit Aaron at the end on May. Aaron and I were wanting to go see NIN back when they were in Wisconsin, but alas it was sold out at the small venue. Well NIN is stopping in Denver, CO on May 30th (a Tuesday). I asked Aaron if he would be down for going considering he will be living a whopping 30 miles or so away. Anyway, I was thinking I would take the time to also take some vacation time at work. A tentative plan might be leaving on Friday or Saturday and then driving to Aaron's place in Boulder. From there we spend Saturday, Sunday, and Monday enjoying Colorado (where the women flock like the Salmon of Capistrano). Then on Tuesday night all those that are down for seeing NIN LIVE in Denver can go. Then we make the drive back on Wednesday morning and be back to go to our jobs with crazy stories to share on Thursday.

This is going down to Iowa then straight across Nebraska... I don't know if this is the fastest way ... but it gives us the option to pick up Indiana Joe as well if he is interested.
I figured I would throw out this idea for the hell of it and see if anyone is remotely interested. For those semi interested and also wish to go to the concert tickets go on sale 4/08. I must add I would also go just to go ... but that would also be cool to see the concert ... again...

Went bowling at some Nokomis Lanes place with Popken and his pals last night. Everyone always tells me that drinking improves their bowling. Well that is not the case for me. I sucked ass. Now don't get me wrong. I wasn't that good to start, but I truly sucked last night. The peeps were all pretty cool. We left to go to Popken's pad, which was right on the other side place. I ended up getting involved in a "dense" conversation with a russian chick. Then everyone kind of passed out at the same time, because they had all been drinking before I showed up. I sat and watched the Olympics for a little while. I fell asleep, but like an hour later I woke up. The chair I was on was killin' me. So I stayed up another hour and left for my apartment. Good times.

Wow ... I got way to drunk with my co-workers tonight. Got home and was on the phone ... was told to get mike back for standing in the middle of the room with just his boxers on from like 2 fridays ago.... well I unbutttoned my pants and pulled them down but because of my drunkeness I pulled down my boxers too.... right as he was coming out of the kitchen ... no time to fix the problem ... he just went OH DAMN !!!! I just fell forward laughing so hard. I managed to cloth myself in the process. I tell you ... that movie "Waiting" (which if you haven't seen it you shoud) is a bad influence. I must say ... if you are gonna be able to hang with us you have to answer one question ... "can you handle male frontal nudity".

Tonight after work I went out and met up with my pals downtown before Broomball. They were short players this week and they asked if I would sub in. I said sure (even though I had never seen the sport). We got there a little late. I just watched for a little bit because I didn't want to embarrass myself. Then someone needed a break so I hopped out on the ice. Within 2 minutes I fell on my ass! Ouch! Then I got up and went down to set up by the net. My freshman year roommate Tim was in the corner and took the shot at the goal. The goalie got a piece of it but it was slowly tickleing by. I popped it in the goal! WOOO!!!! I MADE A GOAL IN MY FIRST GAME!!! The final score 9 to 1 (I guess that make me the MVP for our team in that game). They had cancelled last weeks game so it was a double header night. There was an hour break between games. All my pals had brought booze to drink while waiting. Everyone got pretty "toasty" by the time it was our turn again. I got back out there. BAM!!! I score again!!! This time it was no little trickle into the goal. I smack that thing so hard it almost took the goalie's head off. I was pumped as hell. I still ran around like a fool and fell a lot, but hell I made some goals. That game we won 3 to 4 and the best part was ... our goalie was tanked. He kept falling over. It was great. A few of us grabbed some grub after the game. Then I decided to head back home. I am tired and sore from the game. I think I am gonna get some rest. Hope everyone has a great super bowl weekend!!!

So it had been the week from hell at work which you read about in the other post. I am taking full advantage of my 2 days off. I am doing jack shit and just sitting around. I woke up today at 11 or so and opened the door to find something on the floor. It was a note from Dan. ( Here are some pics for you all to enjoy. )

Well today is my sixth day of work in a row. The first day of this stretch was bad. Lots of bad behaviors going around. Then I went in the next day and I was like "well it can't be worse then the day before". Well every single day in this stretch has been worse then the previous day. Its been a horrid week. I got punched in the stomach two days ago. I was like ... crap it can't get much worse then that. Then I had to run into a room the other day and help save the RN who was being strangled. Then as we were moving this patient I got spit on a bunch and they dug their nails into my hand and I started to bleed all over. The only thing that could make this last night worse is if someone died, sad thing is the rest of the staff and I are afraid that it might actually happen. They have not had a successful suicide in that building yet. I will do what I can to prevent it. Don't get me wrong I love my job. I just really am looking forward to my days off after tonight.
Becuase it was such a rough day yesterday, I went out to the bar to watch the hockey game with Megan and Laney. I didn't work the AM shift so I was gonna just have fun and try to get all the stress out from this past week. Well I got drunk. It was a fun time. Then Megan brought me back to her place. I went to the bathroom and came out to look at the ferrets. Then I felt like lying on the floor and I fell asleep. I don't know how she did it but Megan managed to get me up and into the loft. She made sure I was all tucked in. The last thing I remember as I was fading in and out of sleepy time was Megan holding my hand and kissing it and telling me that she loved me and cooed me to sleep. It reminded me of the first time I went over to her house and we had put in a movie and started to fall asleep on the couch. She kissed my hand then the same way. That girl is sure a special gal. I sure am lucky.
Good times! I needed a night like that to get over the hard times at work. I hope everything goes smoothly.

Well... day 3 was very very long, I so wanted it to be Saturday.
I was very tired and almost fell asleep through the orientation stuff today. However, after lunch it got interesting. We learned our non-hostile self defense moves. We are not allowed to fight back when attacked so most of it was different blocks and releases to be followed by running like hell. If we fight back we get in big trouble because it is a vulnerable adult. The one thing we did learn that was aggressive was "the group take-down". If someone is starting to get a little to violent and it looks like they are gonna throw punches or already have. A large group gathers around and when given the order someone rushes in and gives a bear hug from behind. This gives enough time for 2 people to grab the arms. From there we try to walk them to the cool down room. If it is getting out of hand the RN calls for the takedown. Two people get behind and stabilize the legs, while the others are holding the arms still. On the count of 3 the people in back start lifting out the feet and the people with the arms lower their knees to bring the person to the floor. From there you need to then get the person's hands to their side. Then more people come in and help pin the person to the floor until they are calmed down.
The instructor that was helping my group was like... do you want to show these guys and feel what its like when someone is putting up a fight when you are trying to do this. We agreed. I grabbed one of the arms. She was thrashing around like crazy. It took awhile for the girls to grab her legs. Then on 3 we started the move. She was thrashing while she was in the air, so the guy with the other arm started to stumble. Basically, I got all of the weight on my side and I was left bringing her down to the ground as slowly as I could. Once down she threw her hands towards her chest and I had to pull as hard as I could to get her arm out to the side. The other guy (who is much bigger then me) was having a hard time with the other arm. I would get her arm to a certain point and try to change leverage and she would get a good pull back into her chest. We are not allowed to pull or grab on to any joints, so it was hard as hell. I finally got her arm out. The other guy didn't even get it. At the end we were pinning her down and we all looked at each other. We were all drenched in sweat. The whole thing was only like 30 seconds, but damn ... it was crazy. Crazy and awesome. I can honestly say this job will not be monotonous like the CNA work.
